Here are some recipes you will love – very easy to mix and you may have everything you need already in your pantry!


1. All-Purpose Cleaner.

Best for: Counters, appliances, bathroom surfaces.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 10 – 20 drops essential oil, (like lemon, lavender, or tea tree)

Instructions:

Mix in a spray bottle, shake well, and use as needed.

 

2. Glass & Mirror Cleaner.

Best for: Windows, mirrors

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol (70%)
  • 1 – 2 drops of dish soap

Instructions:

Combine in a spray bottle. Spray and wipe with a lint-free cloth or newspaper.

 

3. Disinfectant Spray.

Best for: Doorknobs, bathroom handles, light switches.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rubbing alcohol
  • 1 cup water
  • 15 drops tea tree oil
  • 15 drops lavender or lemon essential oil

Instructions:

Mix in a spray bottle and shake well.

 

4. Toilet Bowl Cleaner.

Best for: Deep cleaning toilet bowls.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup castile soap or dish soap
  • 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
  • 10 drops tea tree oil
  • 10 drops lavender oil

Instructions:

Mix and pour around the bowl, scrub and let sit for 10 minutes before flushing.

 

5. Carpet Deodorizer.

Best For: Freshening up carpets.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 10 – 15 drops essential oil (optional)

Instructions:

Mix and sprinkle over the carpet. Let sit for 15 – 30 minutes, then vacuum thoroughly.

Kitchen Cleaning Recipes.

1. Grease-Cutting Kitchen Spray.

Use for: Stovetops, counters, backlash.

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon dish soap
  • 10 drops lemon essential oil

Instructions: Shake well in a bottle. Spray and wipe.

 

2. Microwave Steam Cleaner.

Use for: Loosening stuck-on grime inside microwave

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • Optional: A slice of lemon

Instructions: Microwave in a bowl for 3-5 minutes. Let steam inside microwave, then wipe clean.

 

3. Fridge Deodorizer.

Use for: Absorbing odors in the refrigerator.

  • Small container of baking soda.

Instructions: Place an open jar or box in the back of your fridge and replace monthly.


Bathroom Cleaning Recipes.

1. Shower & Tub Scrub.

Use for: Soap scum and build up.

  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • Enough dish soap to form a paste
  • Optional: A few drops tea tree oil

Instructions: Apply paste with a sponge, scrub, and rinse thoroughly.

 

2. Mold & Mildew Spray.

Use for: Shower curtains, grout, tile.

  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 10 drops tea tree oil

Instructions: Spray on problem areas, let sit 10 minutes, then scrub or wipe clean.

 

3. Toilet Bombs (Deodorizing + Cleaning)

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup citric acid
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 20 drops essential oil (eucalyptus or lavender)

Instructions: Mix, press into molds, dry 24 hrs. Drop into the bowl as needed.


Laundry Cleaning Recipes.

1. Homemade Laundry Detergent. (Powder)

  • 1 bar grated castile soap (or Fels-Naptha)
  • 1 cup washing soda
  • 1 cup borax

Instructions: Mix and store. Use 1 – 2 tablespoons per load.

 

2. Fabric Softener.

  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 20 drops essential oil (lavender, lemon, etc)

Instructions: Mix together, add 1/4 cup to the rinse cycle.

 

3. Stain Remover Spray.

  • 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon dish soap

Instructions: Spray on stains. Let sit 5 – 10 minutes before wash.


Uses For Essential Oils.

Lemon Essential Oil.

Best for: Cutting grease, disinfectant, deodorizing.

Top Uses:

  1. Grease Cutter – Add 10 drops to a vinegar + water spray for stovetops and greasy surfaces.
  2. Fridge Freshener – A few drops on a cotton ball placed inside the fridge absorbs odors.
  3. Wood Polish – Mix with olive oil and vinegar to make a natural furniture polish.
  4. Sink Cleaner – Sprinkle baking soda in the sink, add lemon oil, and scrub.
  5. Garbage Disposal Freshener – Add a few drops to a slice of lemon or ice cubes and run through disposal.

Lavender Essential Oil.

Best for: Calming scent, antibacterial, freshening fabrics.

Top Uses:

  1. Fabric Softener Boost – Add 10 drops to vinegar and use in the rinse.
  2. Pillow & Linen Spray – Mix with water and witch hazel for a soothing spray.
  3. Bathroom Disinfectant – Combine with tea tree oil in a spray for tubs and sinks.
  4. Carpet Deodorizer – Add baking soda, Sprinkle on carpets, then vacuum.
  5. Drawer or Closet Freshener – A few drops on a cotton ball placed in small spaces.

Tea Tree Essential Oil.

Best for: Antifungal, antibacterial, mold fighter.

Top Uses:

  1. Mold & Mildew Spray – Add to vinegar + water for shower curtains, grout, and tile.
  2. Toilet Cleaner – Use baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to disinfect bowls.
  3. Disinfecting Surface Spray – Combine with alcohol or vinegar for door handles and remotes.
  4. Laundry Sanitizer – Add 5 – 10 drops to your detergent for extra germ-killing power.
  5. Trash Can Deodorizer – Drop onto a cotton pad and [place under the liner bag.
