Home Cleaning Made Simple
Cleaning your home is never ending but necessary. Consistency is the key to keeping that sparkle. Breaking the chores down can make it simple.
Firstly, make a plan as to what day or days you want to do your cleaning. You could do a full house clean per week or break it down to maybe 2 days per week. You could do a Monday and then a Friday for instance. Let’s look at a full house clean first.
Full House Cleaning.
Firstly, go around and pick up all children’s toys and any other objects on the floors. It is now I suggest to empty all inside rubbish bins, and clear all benches.
Take out any mats and shake out and leave by back door for later.
Wet Cleans.
Bathroom & Toilet.
Bathtub: Squirt Jiff or spray n wipe around inner bathtub, use sponge scorer to give a good clean, then rinse off with water.
- Wipe around the top of bathtub, do the same with basin.
- Wipe window sils, door handle and wipe down any cupboards in bathroom.
Toilet: Squirt toilet clean inside toilet bowl.
- Give the bowl a good brush, right down to bottom of bowl.
- Spray n wipe toilet seat and outer bowl. Wipe down with dry cleaning cloth.
- Wipe window sil and any cupboards in toilet and door handle.
Dry Cleans.
Kitchen.
Clear the top of all benches and wipe down with spray n wipe.
- Empty all rubbish bins and renew bin liners.
- Wipe window sils.
- Wipe all-around microwave, stovetop, and outside of all cupboards.
- Give the toaster and any other appliances (coffee machine) a good wipe, empty toaster tray at bottom.
- Wipe all door handles.
Lounge.
Clear away everything off floors (children’s toys etc) ready for vacuuming.
- Wipe down coffee tables and any cabinets.
- Take care of any ornaments on cabinets.
- Empty any rubbish bins and replace bin liners.
- Wipe all window sils, door handles.
Bedrooms.
- Pick up any toys, clothes etc on the floors. Empty any rubbish bins and replace bin liners.
- Wipe all window sils and door handles, also handles on wardrobes.
- Wipe down all desk tops and draw tops.
- Wipe away any marks you may see on walls.
Laundry.
Wipe down top of washing machine and dryer, and front, sides if accessible. Empty all filters in washing machine and dryer. Empty any rubbish bins and renew liner. Wipe all window sils.
Vacuuming: Go around and vacuum whole house, start at furthest end of the house and make your way towards the front. Remember to empty vacuum when finished.
Mopping: Steam mop or manual mop all floors that need mopping.
Walk around when finished:
- Check all bin liners are done.
- Beds are made nicely.
- All rooms are left tidy.
- You can now bring in all mats and lay where they were.
- You may want to spray an air freshener around if that is something you like.
